Olney East High School freshman Nadiyah Young signed up for a mentoring program for all the wrong reasons.Young wasn’t expecting her life to be transformed when she joined Health Tech, which places high school students at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children to learn about health careers.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — The state plans to close a mental health hospital in Nevada by 2012 in response to budget problems. The Missouri Department of Mental Health announced on Wednesday that it will close the Nevada Habilitation Center by 2012.

GRAND RAPIDS Spectrum Health is acquiring Gerber Memorial Health Services.
